A delegation from the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF), led by Brig. Gen. Ronald Rwivanga, spokesperson of the RDF and representative of Rwanda’s Ministry of Defence, is in Ethiopia to participate in events marking the 130th anniversary of the historic Battle of Adwa.
The visit includes official tours of key national institutions, among them the Ethiopian National Defence Force Museum and the Adwa Victory Memorial, as well as the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute and the Science Museum. The engagements reflect growing cooperation and exchange in areas of defence, technology, and innovation.
The delegation comprises Col. David Sangani, Rwanda’s Defence Attaché accredited to Ethiopia, Djibouti, and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA); Lt. Col. Gaspard Harerimana, Director General in charge of Information Technology at the Ministry of Defence; and Maj. Emmanuel Murenzi, Head of the Military Archives Department.
On Sunday morning, the delegation attended the Second African Ministers of Defence Conference, held under the theme “A Glorious Past, A Brighter Future.” The conference is hosted by Ethiopia’s Minister of Defence and brings together defence leaders from across the continent to discuss regional security and strategic cooperation.
