Head of Iranian Revolutionary Guards Intelligence Organisation Majid Khademi don die for US-Israeli strikes
Majid Khademi, the head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards’ Intelligence Organization, has been killed, according to information from state media.
This comes just days after the Revolutionary Guards confirmed the death of their commander, Alireza Tangsiri, due to severe injuries.
According to Iranian media, the commander of the IRGC navy died in an Israeli attack on a building in Bandar Abbas.
Meanwhile, the announcement of Khademi’s death was made on Monday, as the US-Israel war continues.
The IRGC issued a statement, reported by state media, announcing the killing of their “martyr,” Brigadier General Seyyed Majid Khademi, head of the IRGC Intelligence Organization.
The military body did not provide further details about where Khademi died.
His death is the latest among top Iranian security officials killed in Israel-US airstrikes.
In the same conflict, Israel had earlier announced the killing of another top Iranian security official, Ali Larijani, as well as the head of the paramilitary Basij force, Gholamreza Soleimani. This reportedly happened in March 2026.
Who was Majid Khademi?
Khademi replaced Mohammad Kazemi, who was also killed in another Israeli attack on June 15, 2025, during the 12-day Iran-Israel war.
Majid Khademi appeared in the media under two names—sometimes as Majid Khademi and sometimes as Majid Hosseini.
He previously served as head of the Intelligence Protection Organization of the Ministry of Defense and also led the Intelligence Protection unit of the IRGC.
When Brigadier General Mohammad Kazemi, the former head of IRGC intelligence protection, was appointed as the successor to Hossein Taeb (head of the IRGC Intelligence Organization), Khademi took over Kazemi’s former position.
Khademi was a well-known military figure due to the various security roles he held in Iran.
Although he was transferred from the Ministry of Defense’s intelligence protection unit to the IRGC, he had a long history of serving within the IRGC.
He served as deputy director of the IRGC Intelligence Protection Organization before later becoming its director.
He was appointed head of intelligence protection at the Ministry of Defense in May 2018.
Before his death, Majid Khademi served as the head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Intelligence Organization.
How powerful is the IRGC in Iran?
The IRGC is Iran’s main organization responsible for maintaining internal security and has become a major military, political, and economic force in the country, with more than 150,000 personnel.
With its own ground forces, navy, and air force, it oversees Iran’s strategic weapons.
It also has an overseas arm known as the Quds Force, which secretly provides funding, weapons, technology, and training to allies across the Middle East.
The IRGC also controls the Basij Resistance Force.
