Moritz Kretschy wins Tour du Rwanda 2026
German rider Moritz Kretschy of Swiss club, NSN Development Team, was all smiles as he crossed the finish line at the Kigali Convention Centre (KCC), as Tour du Rwanda 2026 champion.
Although Eritrean cyclist Henok Mulubrhan claimed victory in the final stage after covering 83.8 kilometers in 1 hour 59 minutes and 37 seconds, it was not enough for him or his Eritrean team to overturn Kretschy’s lead. The 23-year-old German had been in control of the peloton since taking over the yellow jersey after Stage Four in Rubavu and successfully defended it through to the end.
Remarkably, Kretschy won the Tour without claiming a single stage victory across the eight stages contested over the past week, relying instead on consistency and tactical team discipline to secure the overall title.
