CAR: Rwandan peacekeepers provide medical services to over 170 residents

Rwandan peacekeepers serving under RWABAT-2 in the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA), on Wednesday, April 22, carried out a medical outreach in Boali District on Wednesday, April 22.

The outreach, conducted from the district headquarters, saw at least 174 patients consulted, diagnosed and treated for a range of medical conditions. Patients were also provided with appropriate medication

The initiative forms part of ongoing civil-military cooperation efforts by Rwandan contingents deployed in different countries aimed at supporting vulnerable communities and improving access to basic health services in areas affected by instability.

Boali Mayor Youskou Camille welcomed the intervention, commending RWABAT-2 for its continued support and strong cooperation with the local population.

The initiative builds on similar community outreach activities carried out by Rwandan peacekeepers across the country.

In one such effort, troops serving under MINUSCA in Bria conducted a medical outreach at Bria Prison on February 24, providing free healthcare services to inmates.

The exercise was led by Rwanda Battle Group 8 in collaboration with the Rwanda Level 2 Hospital contingent, targeting critical health needs within the prison community.

Services offered included internal medicine consultations, gynaecological care, dental treatment, among other essential medical support.
