DR Congo and Burundi in Secret Plot to Undermine Paul Kagame and the Rwandan Patriotic Front

Amid escalating tensions in the Great Lakes region, sources close to regional intelligence networks have disclosed that Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) President Félix Tshisekedi and Burundi President Évariste Ndayishimiye are covertly backing the transformation of the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR) into a rebranded entity known as the Front Commun pour la Libération du Rwanda (FCLR), or Common Front for the Liberation of Rwanda in English.

This move aims to broaden the group's scope into a multifaceted anti-Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF) coalition, targeting the overthrow of President Paul Kagame's government. The revamped FCLR is reportedly structured with distinct military and political wings to enhance its operational reach and ideological appeal.

Leading the political arm is Jean-Luc Habyarimana, son of former Rwandan President Juvénal Habyarimana, whose regime is linked to planning the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. Habyarimana is considered among the top figures perpetuating anti-Tutsi ideologies from that era. Ongoing negotiations are luring key dissidents, including Kayumba Nyamwasa, a former Rwandan army chief and other vocal critics of the post-genocide unity government mainly residing in europe notably Belgium, to bolster the coalition.

Hundreds of FDLR troops, previously stationed in eastern DRC and Burundi, are expected to integrate, alongside Congolese Wazalendo militias and Burundi's ruling party-affiliated Imbonerakure youth militia.

Sources reaching Facts On Rwanda indicate the plan involves launching an extensive offensive across land and air fronts, incorporating drone warfare operated by foreign entities, including Erik Prince's contractors and other unnamed groups from one african and 2 non-african governments that Facts on Rwanda would name at a later stage.

The objective: recapture a strategic territory near Rwanda to enable drone strikes on Rwandan soil, overwhelming Kigali's defenses and facilitating ground incursions. This escalation explains recent Congolese coalition offensives against M23 rebels across multiple fronts earlier this week, defying an internationally brokered ceasefire.

These developments are swiftly undermining the Trump-brokered Washington Peace Accord, which aimed to neutralize FDLR but has instead seen Kinshasa opt for rebranding and empowerment. In response, Rwanda is compelled to maintain and potentially expand defensive measures, particularly amid Burundi's deepening involvement.

Intelligence sources indicates  that Kigali has likely shared these details with international partners, though this remains unverified independently. As ethnic and resource-driven conflicts intensify, the region's stability hangs in the balance, with calls mounting for urgent diplomatic intervention to avert a broader crisis.
