Adel Amrouche relieved of his duties at Amavubi
Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) has announced the termination of Adel Amrouche’s contract as head coach of the national football team, Amavubi.
The Algerian tactician had been in charge since March last year, following the departure of German coach Torsten Spittler, who left the role in December 2024.
In a statement confirming Amrouche’s exit, FERWAFA said the decision followed “a thorough review of serious contractual breaches” as stipulated in his contract.
“We thank Amrouche for his service to the federation and extend our best wishes for his future endeavours. No further media statements will be issued regarding this matter,” the statement said.
Since taking over in March 2025, Amrouche oversaw six matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, recording one win, one draw and four defeats. One of the victories came against Zimbabwe.
