Salomon Nirisarike retires from professional football aged 32

Rwanda international Salomon Nirisarike has called it quits from professional football at the age of 32.
The experienced centre back had a professional career which spans 13 years of fairly successful outing in Europe.
One of the few players who moved to Europe without tasting top flight football in Rwanda, Nirisarike joined Belgian Jupiler Pro League side Royal Antwerp on July 1, 2012 from SEC Academy in his native country for a fee of 75,000 Euros.
Subsequent moves saw him playing for Sint-Truiden, AFC Tubize, Armenian clubs Pyunik Yerevan and FC Urartu before returning to Belgian lower tier teams KVK Tienen and KVV Zepperen.
"We wish Nirisarike happy retirement," reads a statement from Nirisarike’s KVV Zepperen for which he played 19 league games and scored one goal last season.
On the international scene, Nirisarike made his debut for Amavubi in an international friendly against Tunisia on May 27, 2012 and went on to play 35 games.
