He described the name as profoundly meaningful, symbolizing the future and humanity’s responsibility to make a lasting impact. Bay shared his vision as a filmmaker to introduce this gorilla to the world as a "film star," showcasing its story internationally.

He stated, “This is truly amazing. The dancers were incredibly talented. This event makes the Super Bowl Half Time Show feel small in comparison. I’m thrilled to be here, and the name I’ve chosen for my baby gorilla, ‘Umurage,’ signifies heritage. I saw the gorilla; it is beautiful. I also gave it a nickname, 'Mason Rock.'”

The Kwita Izina event, held on Friday, September 5, 2025, in Musanze District, marked its 20th edition. During the ceremony, 40 baby gorillas born in the lush Virunga Mountains were given meaningful names, continuing Rwanda’s commitment to gorilla conservation and cultural heritage.
