FARDC launches airstrikes in Masisi using sukhoi-25 jets and CH-4 drones

The Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) unleashed heavy airstrikes early Friday morning across Masisi Territory, deploying Sukhoi-25 fighter jets and CH-4 combat drones. According to the AFC/M23 revolutionary army spokesperson Lawrence KANYUKA, the bombardments began at 7:00 AM, targeting areas such as Bibwe, Nyenge, Chytso, and Hembe, all heavily populated rural zones.
The strikes reportedly caused civilian deaths and mass displacement, though no official casualty figures have been confirmed. Residents fled in panic as villages were bombarded, worsening the humanitarian crisis in North Kivu where thousands are already displaced by ongoing clashes between FARDC and the M23 revolutionary army. Local accounts point to widespread fear and destruction, with families abandoning homes and farmland.
