Eight South Sudanese Students Deported from Rwanda Over Alleged Criminal Activities
Eight students from South Sudan who were studying at INES Ruhengeri in Musanze District have been deported from Rwanda following an investigation that linked them to acts of violence and theft.
According to reports, the students were accused of assaulting motorcycle taxi operators, intimidating local residents, and carrying weapons. Local communities had reportedly raised concerns about their behavior for some time.
Following investigations by relevant authorities, a decision was made to expel the students from Rwanda in order to safeguard public security and maintain peace within the community.
Despite the incident, Rwanda continues to host a large number of students from South Sudan and other countries, the vast majority of whom live peacefully and integrate well with local communities.
Several South Sudanese students in Rwanda have also gained popularity on social media for speaking Kinyarwanda fluently and embracing Rwandan culture, earning admiration from many Rwandans.
