Iran claims drone strikes on Patriot system in Kuwait, US bases in Qatar and Bahrain

Iran's military has announced that it carried out a series of drone strikes targeting United States military assets in the Gulf, claiming attacks on a Patriot missile system in Kuwait, an early warning satellite antenna site in Qatar, and fuel storage facilities used by the US military in Bahrain.

In a statement, the Iranian Armed Forces said the operation involved "a large number of various types of drones" and vowed to continue resisting what it described as US aggression. The military declared that it "will not allow the goals and aspirations of the foolish President of the United States to be realised under any circumstances" and pledged to defend the ideals of the Islamic Revolution.

In Qatar, residents were awakened shortly before 4:00 a.m. by emergency alerts sent to their mobile phones, instructing them to remain indoors, avoid windows and glass-fronted buildings, and stay away from open areas. A subsequent alert later informed residents that the immediate threat had passed and that normal activities could resume.

In neighboring Bahrain, authorities sounded air raid sirens twice overnight and urged residents to seek shelter. While the Interior Ministry confirmed the precautionary measures, officials have not stated whether Bahrain itself was directly targeted or provided additional details.

The reported strikes come amid heightened tensions following recent US military operations against Iranian targets. Tehran has repeatedly warned that it would respond to the attacks and has accused Gulf states of allowing the United States to use their territory and airspace for military operations against Iran. Those countries have consistently rejected the allegations, insisting they are not parties to the conflict and cautioning that further escalation could destabilize the wider Middle East.

Meanwhile, Iran's Health Ministry said US attacks carried out across five Iranian provinces since Wednesday have killed 14 people and wounded 78 others, underscoring the growing human toll of the confrontation.
