Diarra and Boissy to Play in NBA Summer League

Aliou Diarra of APR BBC and Jean Jacques Boissy of REG BBC are set to participate in the upcoming NBA Summer League scheduled for July 10–20, 2025, in Las Vegas, USA.

Diarra will join the Dallas Mavericks, while Boissy will feature for the Milwaukee Bucks. The NBA Summer League offers teams an opportunity to evaluate young talent, newly drafted players, and emerging prospects looking to secure contracts or roster spots for the regular season.

Their absence will be a major blow to their Rwandan clubs ahead of the national basketball league finals. APR BBC and REG BBC are set to face off in the championship series starting Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 7:00 PM at BK Arena in Kigali.

Both players have been instrumental for their teams this season. Boissy, known for his high scoring, was recently crowned Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2025 Basketball Africa League (BAL) after leading Al Ahli Tripoli to the continental title.

For APR BBC, Diarra’s absence will also be deeply felt. The team has consistently struggled in matches without him, given his strong defensive presence and ability to score crucial points.

APR BBC reached the finals after defeating Patriots BBC in a best-of-five semi-final series (3-2), while REG BBC advanced by sweeping UGB 3-0 in their semi-final match-up.

As both Diarra and Boissy head to the United States for this opportunity, fans will be keen to see their performances against top-tier NBA prospects and hopefuls on the global stage.
