APR FC signs Ivorian striker William Mel Togui on two-year deal

APR FC has officially unveiled its new striker, William Mel Togui, from Côte d’Ivoire.
Togui, who previously played for Ankara Keçiörengücü in Turkey’s second division since 2024, is expected to sign a two-year contract with the Rwandan champions following his arrival in Kigali.
During the ‘APR ku Ivuko’ event held on Friday, July 4, 2025, APR FC Chairman Brig Gen Déo Rusanganwa confirmed that the striker had already been sent his flight ticket and would join the team shortly.
The 28-year-old forward rose to prominence in the 2017/18 season with SC Gagnoa in Côte d’Ivoire, scoring 23 goals, which earned him a move to Belgian top-tier side Mechelen. He spent five years with Mechelen, during which he had loan spells at Espérance de Tunis, RWDM, and Hapoel Jerusalem in Israel.
Despite his move to Ankara Keçiörengücü in 2024, Togui struggled to secure playing time.
He has also been capped five times by the Ivorian national team.
Togui is reportedly APR FC’s final signing of the summer transfer window, joining other new recruits such as Memel Dao, Omborenga Fitina, Hakizimana Adolphe, Ngabonziza Pacifique, Iraguha Hadji, Bugingo Hakim, Nduwayo Alex, and Ronald Ssekiganda.
APR FC recently resumed training ahead of the upcoming season, where they will represent Rwanda in the CAF Champions League.
