Rwanda’s Foreign Minister Meets Australian counterpart to boost cooperation

Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Amb. Olivier Nduhungirehe, met with Australia’s Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Matt Thistlethwaite, and discussed areas of mutual interest between the two countries.
Rwanda’s Ministry of Affairs on Friday, August 15, wrote on X, their discussion focused on topics of common interest, including trade and investment between Rwanda and Australia.
Rwanda and Australia established the Australia–Rwanda Trade and Investment Council (ARTIC) in 2023, during the Australian Leadership Retreat in Brisbane.
ARTIC seeks to deepen ties between Australia and Rwanda by fostering mutually beneficial partnerships in business, education, and culture.
Rwanda offers a seven-year tax holiday and a 50 percent tax deduction to investors in priority sectors such as technology, infrastructure (including energy and water), tourism, mining, housing, and manufacturing, according to the Rwanda Development Board’s investment incentives.
Rwanda was ranked Africa’s top performer for its conducive business environment, according to the 2024 B-Ready report
