Rwandan Maniragaba awarded scholarship to Global agritourism Conference in Scotland 2026

Jean D’Amour Maniragaba, a leading figure in Rwanda’s agritourism sector and founder of Agro-Tourism Park under Eco Terra Vista Tours, has been awarded a prestigious international scholarship to attend the Global Agritourism Conference 2026 scheduled for June 23–25 in Aberdeen.

The global event, organized by Scottish Agritourism, is expected to draw more than 1,000 delegates from across the world. It marks the first major international gathering since the establishment of the Global Agritourism Network, a platform aimed at fostering collaboration and innovation in the growing agritourism industry.

Maniragaba is among 50 selected participants worldwide to receive a fully funded scholarship. The award grants recipients full access to conference sessions, participation in a specialized development workshop, and exclusive peer-to-peer networking opportunities with global leaders in agritourism.

The conference program will feature farm visits across north-east Scotland, alongside key sessions hosted at P&J Live. Backed by the Scottish Government, the initiative seeks to strengthen international partnerships and advance sustainable tourism practices linked to agriculture.

Speaking on the recognition, Maniragaba expressed optimism about the opportunity:
“I am delighted to receive this scholarship and look forward to bringing new ideas and global connections back to Rwanda.”

His participation is expected to contribute to Rwanda’s expanding agritourism sector, which is increasingly seen as a driver of rural development and sustainable travel.
