Veteran Rwandan Sports Journalist Fidèle Kajugiro Sebalinda Passes Away

Veteran Rwandan journalist Fidèle Kajugiro Sebalinda, widely known for his work with Radio Rwanda, passed away on Saturday, June 13, after a prolonged illness.

News of his death emerged on Saturday evening, prompting tributes from colleagues, sports enthusiasts, and media professionals who remembered his significant contribution to sports journalism in Rwanda.

Kajugiro built a distinguished career at Radio Rwanda, where he spent many years covering sports news, particularly handball and other indoor sports. His deep knowledge and passion for sports earned him widespread respect and a loyal audience across the country.

Beyond sports reporting, he also worked in Radio Rwanda’s news department, contributing to the coverage of major national events and public affairs.

In recent years, Kajugiro had been serving at the Rwanda National Olympic and Sports Committee, where he was involved in initiatives aimed at promoting and developing sports in Rwanda.
