Six Killed, Many Injured in Northern Uganda Bus Accident

A wave of concern has gripped Uganda following a serious bus accident that occurred overnight, raising fears that the death toll could rise as rescue efforts continue.

According to local reports, a passenger bus belonging to Nile Star Bus Company collided with a truck along the Pakwach–Karuma road in northern Uganda. The accident happened as the bus was traveling toward Kampala, the country’s capital.

The crash occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Monday, May 4, 2026. Images circulating on social media show the bus completely wrecked, underscoring the شدت of the impact.

Omara Christopher, the chief administrative officer of Nwoya District where the incident took place, confirmed initial reports indicating that at least six people died instantly. Several others sustained injuries, some of them reportedly severe.
