The African Impact Awards—created by Africans for Africans—aim to celebrate transformative work led by individuals, organizations, and nations across the continent. Organizers said the awards represent “the authentic voice of Africans acknowledging and motivating their own.”
The Rwandan Women Association in Sweden, which took home two of the awards, dedicated the honors to President Paul Kagame, praising his leadership for cultivating an environment where women and young people have equal access to opportunities.
In their statement, the association highlighted that Rwanda’s governance model “gives Rwandan women and young people the strength to rise, the courage to lead, and the chance to grow equally in every opportunity.”
They also extended special appreciation to AfroCommunity Magazine and its partners for recognizing Rwanda’s contributions on the continental stage.
