Azam FC Moves to sign APR FC Duo

APR skipper Claude Niyomugabo and his teammate Jean Bosco Ruboneka could end up at Tanzanian outfit Azam FC before the ongoing transfer window closes with the Dar es Salaam-based interested in the duo’s services.
Azam FC are bent on challenging Yanga SC and Simba for the title next season as they look to make an impact in continental club tournament and they are ready to spend big to get the APR duo.
Niyomugabo has been on the radar of Azam since the 2024/25 season when he helped APR to knock them out of the CAF Champions League in the first round. For Ruboneka, his signing will depend on the departure of Feisal Salum who has attracted interest of Kaizer Chiefs, Simba SC and Yanga.
APR could get as much as $300,000 (approx. Rwf 430 milliom) for Niyomugabo and around $150,000 (approx. Rwf 215 million) for Ruboneka.
Rwanda international Djabel Manishimwe's name has also popped up at Azam but it will all depend on the selling of Salum and their failure to get Ruboneka.
APR FC are also clinging onto the duo as they hope to at least get to the Group stages of the CAF Champions League for the first time in their history.
