The Rwanda National Police SWAT teams have showcased remarkable performance in the UAE SWAT Challenge 2025, an international competition aimed at testing the tactical skills of police forces from around the world. This year’s edition attracted over 103 teams representing different countries.
Rwanda was represented by two elite teams competing in five categories, including navigating complex obstacle courses, teamwork exercises, wall climbing, and endurance tests designed to assess physical strength and tactical abilities.
On the final day, competitors faced the challenging obstacle course stage. After five days of intense competition, Rwanda National Police SWAT Team 1 secured 10th place with 407 points, completing the course in 13 minutes and 27 seconds.
The gold medal went to China Police Team B, which scored 480 points, finishing in 11 minutes and 12 seconds. Kazakhstan’s SUNKAR Police Team claimed the silver medal with 470 points, while China Police Team A took the bronze with 457 points.
Rwanda National Police SWAT Team 2 also delivered an impressive performance, completing the course in 15 minutes and 36 seconds, earning 357 points, and finishing in 18th place.
The strong showing by the Rwandan teams highlighted their advanced training and growing expertise in counter-terrorism operations. Their participation demonstrated Rwanda’s commitment to enhancing its security capabilities and international cooperation in policing efforts.
