In a powerful display of unity and cross-border cooperation, Rwandan Security Forces (RSF) deployed in Mozambique on counter-terrorism duties joined residents of Mucojo, a locality in the Macomia district of Cabo Delgado province, in a community clean-up activity known as Umuganda.

The RSF personnel, currently stationed in Mozambique as part of a peace support mission aimed at eliminating terrorist threats in the region, collaborated with local residents to clean Mucojo market and its surroundings. This initiative marked a symbolic gesture of recovery and solidarity in an area that was once a terrorist hideout until its liberation in October 2024 by the Rwandan forces.

Mucojo’s local leader, Hassan Fazenda, expressed deep gratitude toward the Rwandan troops and police officers for restoring peace and order. “We sincerely thank you for your sacrifice, which has allowed us to return to our homes. Your support is helping us recover from the severe impacts of four years under terrorist control,” said Fazenda.
