Rwanda Reportedly in Talks to Partner with Aston Villa Through Visit Rwanda
Reports indicate that English Premier League club Aston Villa could be the latest football team to partner with Rwanda through the country's tourism promotion campaign, Visit Rwanda.
According to Read Aston Villa, a website that closely follows the Birmingham-based club, Visit Rwanda is among the leading candidates to become Aston Villa’s new sleeve sponsor, with its branding potentially appearing on the club’s playing shirts.
Sources cited by the outlet suggest that an official partnership announcement could be made in the coming days, although neither Aston Villa nor Rwandan authorities have publicly commented on the reports.
The club has been searching for a new sleeve sponsor following the expiration of its agreement with Trade Nation earlier this year.
The reported discussions come after Rwanda’s eight-year sponsorship deal with Arsenal ended at the conclusion of last season. During that partnership, the Visit Rwanda logo featured prominently on Arsenal’s shirt sleeves and across the club’s home ground, Emirates Stadium.
Read Aston Villa reports that Rwanda is seeking to maintain a strong presence in the Premier League while securing a sponsorship package that is more cost-effective than its previous agreement with Arsenal, yet still delivers significant visibility for the country’s tourism and investment sectors.
Aston Villa is viewed as an attractive option due to its recent success in European competitions and its continued participation in tournaments that attract a global television audience.
Should the partnership materialize, Aston Villa would join a growing list of international sports organizations collaborating with Rwanda through Visit Rwanda, including Atlético de Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Rams, and the Basketball Africa League.
