Rwanda Defence Force allegedly possesses advanced GPS disrupting technology

Must read

Sources claim that the Rwanda Defense Force (RDF) possesses highly sophisticated military weaponry, including electronic warfare weapons capable of jamming GPS signals. These devices would wreak havoc on an enemy’s ability to coordinate military operations, especially for fighter jets.

GPS jamming has developed into a necessary tactic during contemporary warfare. It has for example been put to use in the Ukraine conflict as well as the Middle East, where it has nullified the effectiveness of drones and other military navigation equipment. It is possible that the RDF, if it has such a capability, can render enemy planes and drones useless in conflict zones, effectively negating their advantage.

There are allegations that Rwanda installed these electronic warfare equipment along its border with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), according to the United Nations study.

Despite much of Rwanda’s military capabilities still being shrouded in secrecy, it is apparent from its attempts at intervening in CAR, Mozambique, and South Sudan that Rwanda is attempting to expand its military reach.

Considering the alleged electronic warfare capabilities of RDF, it might be extremely challenging to engage Rwanda in combat. According to analysts, any conflict with an adversary that makes use of GPS jamming technology, such as aircraft and drones, will result in devastating casualties.

With RDF’s previous deployments in Africa and the possibility of technological sophistication in warfare, military experts advise caution while attempting to engage Rwandan forces.
