Senegalese President Macky Sall is set to visit Rwanda on monday, where he will participate in the Women Deliver 2023 Conference (WD2023), confirmed by an official source to Kigali Daily News. The conference is scheduled to be held in Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda, from July 17 to 18, 2023.
The Women Deliver conferences play a significant role in promoting discussions among stakeholders worldwide, breaking down barriers, tackling challenges, and identifying opportunities to advance gender equality, particularly in the areas of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). These efforts aim to enhance the overall health, rights, and well-being of girls and women, considering the various facets of their identities.
WD2023, one of the largest gatherings spanning multiple sectors in support of gender equality, will bring together 6,000 participants physically in Kigali, with an additional 200,000+ individuals joining virtually through the Conference’s online platform and a six-month Global Dialogue leading up to the main event.
This conference occurs once every three years and is organized by Women Deliver, a global advocacy network dedicated to championing gender equality and the health and rights of girls and women. The theme for the 2023 conference is “Creating Spaces, Solidarity, and Solutions.”
