A Nigerian clergywoman, Prophetess CyyCyy O Power, has warned young Christians against indulging in online-dating.
She gave the advice to her congregation during a speech at church and urged them not to date anyone they met online.
Prophetess Power was heard warning her church members that using the internet to choose a life spouse is against biblical teaching in a video that has gone viral online.
She exhorted Christians to put God’s kingdom first in order to fulfill all of their aspirations, including getting married.
The clergywoman said; “It’s simple. The formula is there; ‘seek ye first the kingdom of God’. Do not seek online dating.
“Seek ye first the kingdom of God and every other thing shall be added: Marriage, houses, babies, whatever you need. But what is the formula? God first. Not online dating”
After the lady explained how they met, a young Nigerian couple’s touching love tale melted hearts online.
She admitted that despite her husband’s ongoing interest in her, she made the first audacious move.
The wife claims that he frequently boosted her and always liked or commented on her images but never once slid into her direct message.
However, when she felt that the constant hype was becoming too much, she went to his DM and asked if he was looking to get married because she could not understand why he was always on her case.
That was the beginning of what blossomed into a relationship that ended with them becoming husband and wife.
HOW WE MET
We chatted for the first time while I was serving in National assembly in 2018. I have a friend from Lagos, Mummy Zahra, who was also a corper in the National Assembly. Her phone was faulty so she frequently used my phone to check her social media page. pic.twitter.com/9Jm9KuH4Uw
