On Monday, the leader in streaming sent out an apology tweet. We are deeply sorry that the Love is Blind Live Reunion did not go as we had anticipated. It read: “To everyone who stayed up late, got up early, and sacrificed their Sunday afternoon.
“We’re filming it now and we’ll have it on Netflix as soon as humanly possible. Again, thank you and sorry.”
Love is Blind: The Live Reunion was the streamer’s second live event after Chris Rock: Selective Outrage in March.
The dating show’s delay had many people sharing their outrage on social media.
“I’m ready…NOW GET THE STREAM TO WORK!!!,” one viewer joked.
“I hate you so much right now,” another social media user said.
Another viewer quipped: “Y’all better go back to shipping out DVDs that was more your speed.”
In order to address questions from fans, part of the cast would be brought in by Netflix. It’s unclear at this time if the delay had any impact on the question-and-answer session.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a US congresswoman, added a joke, saying, “Someone call Lucia the seamstress to mend this. I have faith in her.
While actor Kevin Fredericks added lightheartedly: “Somebody who got laid off from Netflix did this before Love is Blind went live.”
The reality TV show, created by Chris Coelen and produced by Kinetic Content, first premiered on Netflix in 2020 and has now hit its fourth season this year.
The series follows fifteen men and fifteen women hoping to find love.
Ten days of dating are required between the men and women, who communicate verbally but cannot see one another in the built-in “pods” where they are placed.
After ten days, the daters have the option to extend a marriage proposal. When a couple is further tested in the dating experiment, they can only meet after deciding to get married.
