The Coordinator of the Alliance Fleuve Congo (AFC) coalition, which includes M23, has announced that in the near future, this movement will replace the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC), which he claims have already collapsed.

Nangaa made this statement during a recent interview with researcher Alaix Destexhe.

This politician, who formerly headed the Electoral Commission in the DRC, promised Congolese citizens that the AFC exists for their sake and represents their hope.

Nangaa said that the AFC/M23 is currently the core of the Congolese army, which he says has already fallen apart, and that it will soon take over its responsibilities.

He stated:
“The army has already collapsed. There is now a core of that army that is growing stronger— a professional military that knows how to fight. I commend its Chief of Staff and leader, Gen. Makenga. This is the future army of the Democratic Republic of Congo.”

Nangaa also assured the Congolese people that security is their top priority, especially addressing the killings taking place in various parts of the country, and that the AFC is ready to find a solution to these issues
