Jean-Claude Nyembo, a police commissioner, was convicted of armed robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime. Along with another police officer, he was also sentenced to death.

In delivering the verdict, Colonel Madjunda urged the population of Tanganyika to actively report any security personnel involved in criminal activity.

“We are present and the court is performing its duties. Whenever the public has information, they should not hesitate to share it. We will do everything possible to ensure justice is served,” he stated.

All the convicted individuals are currently being held at Kalemie’s central prison.

This ruling highlights the military court’s commitment to combating impunity within the security forces and restoring public trust in the justice system.
