M23 presents the modern weapons they captured from DRC SPECIAL FORCE and its allies , every arm is marked CDFA : Congo defence force army — before its serial number
The M23 group announced that the army of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, FARDC, attacked in the Tongo area and wanted to continue to occupy a large part of it, but they were defeated and left behind a lot of weapons.
The General Director of M23, Bertrad Bisimwa, announced on Tuesday morning that there was a serious attack in the Rutshuru Territory, the FARDC forces want to take control of the Tongo area.
He said, “During the fierce fighting, the enemy left guns and heavy weapons, the people of Tongo collected them and brought them to our camp. Many of those on the enemy’s side surrendered to us, and others were captured.”
Bisimwa went on to say that “as we did in Kitshanga, our forces are helping non-governmental organizations to move from war zones with FARDC soldiers and armed groups wounded in battle to reach the hospital and receive proper treatment .”
On Tuesday also in Nyiragongo territory in Kibumba area, fighting continued where the FARDC side attacked M23.
From Saturday 21st October 2023, M23 re-occupied Kitshanga area in Masisi.
