Following his groundbreaking concert at BK Arena, internationally renowned R&B artist John Legend visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial in Gisozi. Accompanied by his entourage, the Grammy-winning singer paid tribute to the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
During the visit, Legend and his team received an in-depth briefing on Rwanda’s history before, during, and after the genocide. They learned about the atrocities committed, the resilience of the Rwandan people, and the country’s remarkable journey of rebuilding and reconciliation.
John Legend took a solemn moment to honor the victims by laying a wreath on the memorial site. His visit was acknowledged on the memorial’s social media platforms, which stated: “John Legend and his team were briefed on the causes and consequences of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, as well as the extraordinary journey of rebuilding that has taken place since.”

This visit followed Legend’s electrifying performance at the ‘Move Afrika’ concert on Friday, February 21, 2025, where he performed in front of over 10,000 enthusiastic fans at BK Arena.
