Ghanaian Afrobeats star King Promise delivered an alluring performance to thousands of basketball enthusiasts during the halftime show of the second match of the day in the Nile Conference between Rwandan champions APR and Kenya’s Nairobi City Thunder at BK Arena.
The musician made a special appearance as the Nile Conference of the 2025 Basketball Africa League (BAL) commenced in Kigali on Saturday, May 17.

In what was his second performance in Kigali, King Promise had a brief moment to entertain the crowd as APR and NCT headed into the halftime break. The singer stormed the stage with his two viral tracks “Sugar cane” and “Terminator,” before the two teams return for the second half. The match ended 92-63 in the home side’s favor.
He became the first artiste the grace the BAL Nile Conference half time show whose lineup also includes a number of local artistes including Ariel Wayz, Angell Mutoni, Kivumbi King and Bruce Melodie who will perform on the final day of the Conference games.
Launched in 2019, through a partnership between the NBA and FIBA, the Basketball Africa League has quickly grown into a premier platform for showcasing not only top-tier basketball talent but also create a space for entertainment across the continent.
