by the end of the 2025-26 season its when england Premier League clubs have agreed to cutoff betting sponsorship to the front of their matchday jerseys.

After the cutoff, teams will still be permitted to promote betting businesses on things like shirt sleeves and LED signage.

Clubs may also sign new shirt-front contracts before the deadline.

Eight teams in the top division have gambling businesses on the front of their jerseys, which is worth an estimated £60 million annually. here below is a list of premier legue teams with gambling sponsors Brentford, Burnley, Crystal Palace, Leeds, Newcastle, Southampton, Watford, West Ham and Wolves

As part of the government’s ongoing review of the existing gambling laws, the league, its clubs, and the Department for Culture, Media, and Sport held consultations before making the announcement.

The Premier League will now be the first sports league in the UK to voluntarily take such a step to limit betting advertising.

After reviewing the gaming laws, the government is anticipated to release a white paper on gambling.

The Premier League was expected to accept a change willingly, therefore the government wasn’t expected to suggest prohibiting gambling sponsorship.

Before he resigned, former Prime Minister Boris Johnson approved the plans in significant part.

Aston Villa’s fan consultation group met with CEO Christian Purslow in January after the team was said to have agreed to a contract with Asian-based betting company BK8. Later, it released a statement that read, “The commercial reality is that such sponsors offer clubs twice as much financially as non-gambling companies to teams outside the top six.”

A self-regulatory strategy would offer a useful and adaptable substitute to regulation or outright ban, according to the Premier League.

To help teams transition away from shirt-front gambling sponsorship, a collective agreement was made to begin the prohibition after 2025–26.
