Several people died and others were seriously injured on Saturday, May 24, 2025, in a road accident in Tshikapa, the capital of Kasai province.
According to witnesses to the event, a Land Rover carrying several people who were travelling to the Tshikapa General Hospital morgue for the lifting of the body of a woman from a fuel seller crossed a Mercedes who was leaving the Kamalenge market, not far from Tshikapa airport.
“We have so far counted 20 dead and seriously injured. The driver apparently experienced a brake failure. Injured people are brought to the hospital,” a witness to the event told Actu30.cd.
It is the second fatal accident in a week-long space in the city of Tshikapa, the capital of Kasai province.
