In a surprising turn of events, Republican candidate Donald Trump declared victory over Democratic candidate Kamala Harris after securing key battleground states like Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Georgia in the presidential election.

Trump, addressing a cheering crowd, conveyed his vision for the nation: “Nothing will stand in my way of delivering on my promises to you, my people. We will make America safe, strong, prosperous, respected, and free.”

He continued, urging unity across the country, saying, “I encourage everyone in this nation to join me on this journey of truth and growth. This is our chance to leave behind the divisions of the last four years. It’s time to unite, and we will strive to achieve that. We must try. And it will be possible. Victory will bring us together.”

Trump’s words resonated with his supporters as he expressed his gratitude: “I want to tell you that it’s a great honor for me. Thank you immensely; I will not abandon you. The future of America will be dignified, marked by significant change, prosperity, increased security, and more strength than ever before.” Concluding his speech, he invoked a blessing, saying, “May God bless the people and the nation of America.”

Nearly all the votes have been counted in the state, with Trump having secured 50 percent.

The state voted Republican in the 2016 elections, then for the Democrats in 2020 – each time by less than a percentage point.

This state has clinched the election for Trump because it has taken his overall vote share above 270, smashing the target necessary to become the US president.
