RWANDA, Kigali Young Africans have picked an encouraging 2-0 win against Al Merriekh in the first leg of CAF Champions League (CAFCL).

Substitute Kennedy Musonda and a powerful strike by Clement Mzize have glorified the Tanzania’s envoys at Kigali Pele Stadium in Rwanda on Saturday.

The outcome gives Yanga an upper hand to break into the group stage of the competition prior to the return match in Dar es Salaam.

To advance to the last 16, the Jangwani based club just need to avoid defeat in the reverse clash.

For the Sudan envoys, all is not lost for them as they still have an opportunity to stamp victory at an away venue.

However, it is a sweet results for hundreds of Yanga fans who made a long trip to Rwanda to cheer their side.

As such, they have got a deserved pay for their massive support.
