Bahavu revealed that winning car was a tragedy at Rwanda International Movie Awards,Usanase Bahavu Jeannette has been waiting for the car she won in the People’s Choice category at the Rwanda International Movie Awards 2023 for more than a month and five days.
The actor received three awards, including the grand prize of a 2012 KIA K5 vehicle sponsored by Ndoli Safaris, the competition’s partner.
On May 4, 2023, Bahavu informed the media for the first time the truth about what happened following the awarding of the Rwanda International Movie Awards 2023.
She claims that as soon as she realized that the director had not been given the Best director award, she started to worry about how the movie would have won for Best Series and Best Actress.
In contrast to past awards Bahavu would have witnessed, the award nominees were given a special reception for the first time, which She believed altered the lifeline’s appearance.
“The meeting we did gave me the confidence that the things we are going through I will not waste time, because I saw the whole team that is there is not deceived by lies,” she explained. “I remember Alliah Cool used to tell me that the things I am going through will not kill my reputation; these things have to go well.”
The actress claims that there is no need for her to go to court in order to earn her award.
Was Bahavu’s victory in the main prize a disaster for RIMA?
One of the contestants once told Bahavu that the car would not be given away, but she would win it and they would share the prize money.
“Let me talk about the news I got after these awards were given; one of the people who were with me in the race told me that you will not see this car. He didn’t say it in a hateful way; he was more like a person who was giving me advice on the program that was there.”
Since she was one of the organizers of the awards ceremony, she asks Alliah Cool to take action if she truly wants to boost Rwandan cinema.
