Amb. James Kimonyo, Rwanda’s envoy in China, presented his Letters of Credence to the President of Pakistan, Arif Alvi, on Thursday, July 13.
The ceremony took place at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad, officially appointing Amb. Kimonyo as the High Commissioner of Rwanda to Pakistan with residence in Beijing.
During the credential presentation, Amb. Kimonyo conveyed warm greetings from President Paul Kagame to President Arif Alvi. He emphasized his commitment to enhancing the existing diplomatic and economic cooperation between Rwanda and Pakistan.
Prior to the ceremony, Amb. Kimonyo held several crucial meetings with officials from the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Commerce. The aim was to explore opportunities for strengthening bilateral cooperation in various sectors, including diplomatic training, defence, health, engineering, agriculture, and investment.
In a meeting with the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Amb. Kimonyo provided valuable insights into Rwanda’s business environment and investment opportunities. He highlighted the country’s thriving business-friendly climate and urged Pakistani investors to consider Rwanda as an attractive investment destination.
Rwanda’s strategic location, stable political climate, and progressive policies make it an ideal choice for Pakistani investors seeking high returns and long-term growth.
He assured the ICC that the Rwandan Embassy is fully prepared to provide support and assistance to investors, ensuring that their requirements are met.
Expressing their interest in bilateral cooperation, the ICC expressed a desire to invest in various sectors in Rwanda. These include pharmaceuticals, food processing, building industry parks, mining, agro-processing, and direct trade of tea and coffee from Rwanda.
The diplomatic relationship between Rwanda and Pakistan dates back to July 1962, and both countries have collaborated in various fields, including trade and investment.
