Military several properties from Joseph Kabila’s Kinshasa Residence

Must read

On Friday, the Military Auditor of the Matete Garrison released a report detailing items seized from a property belonging to former Congolese President Joseph Kabila, located on 18th Street in the Limete commune of Kinshasa. This marks the fourth consecutive day of searches conducted at the site.

According to the report, military authorities confiscated 19 civilian vehicles of various makes, along with over 200 generators, batteries, converters, and solar panels. The items were documented on-site and placed under the custody of Tshamala Kamoni Gustave, the property manager, and Lembe Damas Lembe, the official custodian of the premises.

Olive Lembe, the former First Lady, responded through her communications advisor, Adam Shemisi, who condemned the operation as looting and theft. “On what grounds are our belongings being taken? This is theft. Who filed a complaint? Where is the judicial order? They said they came to search for weapons—so where are the weapons?” Shemisi questioned.

A day earlier, representatives from Kabila’s camp reported that security services had notified the manager of Kingakati Park—also known as Nsele Valley Park—of an upcoming search scheduled for Thursday. The Kabila family has denounced the actions as “staging” and a “violation” of the rights and property of a former head of state, who now holds the status of senator for life.
