Must read

The Russian Embassy in Rwanda, in collaboration with the University of Rwanda (UR) and the University of St. Petersburg, has announced their plan to introduce Russian language courses in Rwanda. The program is scheduled to commence in September 2023.

The Embassy of Russia in Kigali shared the exciting news, stating, “We are delighted to inform you that starting from September 2023, the University of Rwanda and the University of St. Petersburg will jointly offer free online Russian language courses for individuals of all ages and proficiency levels.”

This initiative is expected to greatly benefit the people of Rwanda, as the Russian language is spoken by over 258 million individuals worldwide and is the predominant language in Western Europe.

However, it is worth noting that out of the 258 million Russian speakers, only 154 million consider it their native language.
