Senegalese powerhouse AS Douanes marched into the BAL semi-finals following Sunday’s emphatic 93-73 win over Mozambique’s Clube Ferroviario da Beira at BK Arena.

Mamadou Gueye’s boys opened up with an 11-2 run to finish the first quarter with a five-point lead which they extended to 10 points before half time.

Back in the second half, AS Dounes resumed from where they stopped, flowing with a 19-15 win in third quarter and 22-21 in the last quarter.

“We got the job done and we are ready for whoever comes in the semis,” said head coach Gueye, adding that his group was “great on defense tonight.”

Samba Fall scored a game high 23 points while Christopher Crawford and Jean Jacques Boissy added 17 and 15 points respectively.

“I don’t think we failed at anything this is a basketball game, they played greater than us, so congratulations to them,” said Luis Hernandez, Ferroviario da Beira head coach.

AS Douanes joins Stade Malien and Al Ahly in the semi finals. The pair reached the last four stage after beating Cape Town Tigers and Rwanda Energy Group (REG) respectively in the quarter finals on Saturday.
